Loxahatchee Club first opened for play in 1984. The course was designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The terrain is basically flat, but there are many "chocolate drop" mounds on most holes. The greens are undulating, fast and well bunkered.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,147 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,394 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 16, a par-5 that plays to 597 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 164 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 386 yard par-4 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 17, a 192 yard par-3.
The signature hole is #11, a 399-yard, par 4, featuring fairway bunkers and water running the entire length of the right side of the fairway. The green on this hole is multi-tiered, proper club selection can make the difference between a birdie and a bogie.
